New members are always welcome. Membership is renewed each calendar year.
2027 dues: $100
2027 dues are due by December 31, 2026.
Requirements
- Current membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA)
- A TRUST certificate (The Recreational UAS Safety Test) from the FAA
- FAA registration, with your registration number on any aircraft over 250 grams
Membership application
The application can be filled in on your computer or printed and completed by hand.
On a computer: click View the Application to look at it in your browser, or Download the Application to save it to your Downloads folder. Open the saved copy to fill it in, or print it to fill in by hand.
On an iPhone or iPad: tap View the Application, then tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) and choose Save to Files or Print.
On an Android phone or tablet: tap Download the Application. It is saved to your Downloads; open it from the notification, or from the Files (or My Files) app. To print it, open it and choose Print from the menu (the three dots).

How to submit your application and payment
- In person at the monthly meeting, first Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM at the field
- By mail with a check to the address on the application
- Drop off at K&K Hobby, 3835 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte
- By email: send the completed form to secretary@charlotterc.com, then pay by check or cash
Visiting pilots
AMA members visiting the area for a short stay (a week or two) are welcome to fly after making a donation to the club. Pilots staying longer are asked to join as members.
