Safety comes first at the CRCS field. All flying follows the AMA Safety Code and the club rules below.
Requirements for every pilot
- Have proof of your TRUST certificate (The Recreational UAS Safety Test) readily available.
- Aircraft over 250 grams must display your FAA registration number.
- Display your membership card while flying.
Club rules
- No flying or running of gas or glow engines before 9:00 AM.
- Fly only in the designated area: the roadway to the east, the first roadway to the north, and the second fence line to the west.
- Keep aircraft north of the taxiways and south of the runway edge. Never fly over the flight line or the pits.
- Avoid wide turns on final that drift toward the pits. Use the centerline flag and border cones to line up early.
- Deliberately flying behind the fence line is prohibited. If your plane gets behind you, turn to follow it and call out to other pilots and spectators that it is over the pit area.
- No taxiing in the pit area or behind the fence line. Accompany your plane to the end of the taxiway.
- Start and restrain all aircraft by hand or mechanically, in the designated pit areas.
- Announce takeoffs, landings, walking on the field, and emergencies.
- Call out approaching full-size aircraft, and always fly within line of sight.
- Failure to follow the safety rules and code of conduct will not be tolerated.
